"Jiu-Jitsu begins and ends with RESPECT"
We train to be a better person than our yesterday's self. Our only real competition is ourself. In our humble dojo, we train our students to be respectful to everyone. The world says "Respect is earned and not given". This phrase is so self centered and ego booster. This is what we follow "Love one another warmly as Christians, and be eager to show respect for one another." (Romans 12:10) In this video, Ali (9 years old) is fighting a bigger and older opponent. He was wearing his game face. He successfully performed his gameplan and won the gold medal. The coach shouted and asked him to bow to his opponent and always the first one to give respect. "Always Bow to the opponent. We will not win without our opponent." - coach Hamir Achacoso
Vitor Belfort is living a dream. He is a Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hero from Brazil with a beautiful celebrity wife and millions of followers around the world. Life must be easy for him, right? Yet Vitor's road to his dream was marked by great challenges that brought pain into his life and the spiritual journey that accompanied. First was the challenge to train and be a champion fighter. The next was in seeing significance and balance to a life displayed to the public. Following that came significant grief and pain in a personal tragedy. It is a road to God that was marked by pain at every step. But he has no pain now—only joy and peace through a relationship with Jesus that he knows can be shared by others.
